Travel: Pahiyas Festival 2015 in Lucban Quezon

If you're planning to join the Pahiyas Festival 2015, you need to make your final decision as early of now. I'm sure lots of local and international tourists will flock to Lucban Quezon to witness this much-awaited colorful event.



Pahiyas Festival is the biggest and grandest festival in the town of Lucban. It's celebrated every 15th of May, which features houses decorated with unique styles and designs made up of fresh fruits and vegetables, handicrafts and KIPING (colorful rice wafers). This celebration is honor of San Isidro Labrador.

The schedule of activities will be started with a morning mass to be held at San Isidro Labrador Church then to be followed with procession in different streets of Lucban. There will be also grand parade of colorful floats, marching bands, street dancers, art and photo exhibit, concerts, etc.

Awarding of best Pahiyas Festival House Design and Decors is scheduled in the afternoon while the extravagant fireworks display will be at night. 

There will be also local or OPM bands that will join the event to showcase their talent in music.

How to get to Lucban Quezon

It's very easy to go Lucban Quezon. Take a bus in Cubao Quezon City which bound  Manila-Calamba-Lucban or Manila-Lucena City From Lucena Grand Central, take a lucban bound jeepney or van. Travel Time from Manila to Lucban takes 4-5 hours. 

What to eat in Lucban Quezon

Aside from beautiful houses, you may enjoy the taste of pancit habhab and local sausage of Quezon, Longganisang Lucban. Don't use fork and spoon in eating their pancit. From the banana leaf, put your mouth near the pancit and slightly push it to your mouth. 

What to see in Lucban Quezon

One of the nearest tourist spots in Lucban is Kamay Ni Hesus or Daan ng Krus. This pilgrimage site is very famous during holy week. The shrine is within Mt. Banahaw and specifically located in Barangay Tinamnan, It features a large statue of Jesus Christ and 14 Stations of the Cross. You can rich the statue  through 292 steps.

There are affordable/cheap hotels, motels, inns and other accommodation available in Lucban and nearby towns.
